Children’s Programs and Services (CPS) supports newcomer families in a universal goal of providing a warm and nurturing environment with language enriched programs which are designed to stimulate optimum early childhood development in a family centred setting either onsite or offsite.
Caring for Newcomer Children:
Long Term Care- childcare services for children ages 3 months to 12 years whose parents are attending Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada classes, Enhanced Language Training or Immigrants With Occupation Related Knowledge classes on a regular basis
Short Term Care- for children ages 19 months to grade 8, whose parents are at the same site receiving Settlement and/or Employment Services on an occasional basis
Licensed Childcare- licensed through the Provincial Ministry of Education this allows the clients and children to separately participate in off-site learning experiences
